His fervour for the art of baking led him to Burdwan, where he distinguished himself by securing second place in the All India Bakery course. Armed with knowledge and steely determination, Anadinath founded Anadi Bakery in 1939—a bold endeavour in an era when entrepreneurship was fraught with challenges.

Upon establishing the bakery, Anadinath received the blessings of his revered Guru, Sri Sri Thakur Omkarnath Dev, who advised him to commit solely to vegetarian offerings. This sage counsel became a guiding principle, a tradition that has been rigorously upheld to this day.

By 1940, Anadi Bakery, now a licensed establishment, swiftly became a household name in Burdwan. What began as a modest venture flourished into the town’s leading bakery, thanks to the collaborative efforts of Anadinath’s three sons—Haranath, Dwarakanath, and Lokenath—who, under their father’s astute guidance, upheld the bakery’s reputation for quality, tradition, and unique offerings.

As the business prospered, the Banerjee family's commitment to excellence grew ever stronger. Anadinath’s grandson, Rudranath Banerjee, immersed himself in the bakery’s operations from a young age, captivated by the craftsmanship of his father and uncles. His innovative spirit led to the creation of the special eggless cake, a culinary marvel that soon became an indispensable part of the region’s Christmas festivities.

In 2023, Rudranath Banerjee—now a distinguished professor and a doctorate in Computer Science—resolved to honour his family’s legacy by advancing their culinary heritage. His vision gave birth to Cafe Anadi Bakery, established in August 2024. This café represents the confluence of Anadi Bakery’s rich legacy with the contemporary palate of modern-day customers.
